From Tooth Extraction to Bone Augmentation – an Overview on Hard Tissue

The management of hard tissue is a cornerstone of modern dental practice andresearch. This lecture provides a comprehensive overview of the biological andclinical processes involved in hard tissue healing and regeneration, starting from tooth extraction and progressing through to advanced bone augmentation techniques.

Attendees will gain insight into the physiology of post-extraction socket healing, factors influencing bone resorption, and current strategies to preserve or enhance alveolar ridge volume. Emphasis will be placed on clinical decision-making, case selection, and evidence-based protocols to optimize outcomes in implant site development.

Designed for clinicians seeking to refine their approach to hard tissue management, this lecture bridges fundamental biological principles with research and practical surgical applications.

Management of Peri-implant Hard and Soft Tissue Deficiencies: When to Treat and When to Start Over

Hard and soft tissue deficiencies around dental implants are increasingly prevalent conditions which can compromise the function, cleansability, and aesthetics of implant-supported rehabilitations.

The aim of the lecture is to define the current objectives of modern implant therapy and present a comprehensive diagnostic algorithm for the assessment of peri-implant tissue deficiencies.

A range of treatment strategies will be explored, tailored to different clinical scenarios, from mucogingival interventions to implant explantation, advanced bone reconstruction, and the subsequent delivery of new implant-supported prostheses.
